Dance Camp (Broward Campus)

Get ready to move and groove in our Dance Camp, a high-energy program designed to spark a love for dance through variety and teamwork! Throughout the session, dancers will gain exposure to exciting styles including jazz, pom, and acro, while sharpening their skills through technical drills and fun choreography combos. Beyond the moves, we prioritize community with specialized dancer bonding exercises to help students build lasting friendships. The excitement starts immediately; dancers will begin learning a fully choreographed routine to perform in a special showcase, celebrating their progress and confidence from the jump!

Mrs. Martinez was a dancer and choreographer for the NHL Florida Panthers before joining American Heritage, where she spent 14 years as the upper school dance instructor and head coach of our competition dance team on the Palm Beach campus. Mrs. Martinez was also the head coach for the Performance Dance Team, which had over 70 dancers who performed at all home varsity football games. Under her leadership, the AHS competitive dance team earned more than 10 national championships, traveled to New York City numerous times to compete for top honors in competitions and conventions, and earned numerous choreography awards. Mrs. Martinez has also been honored by the Star Dance Alliance with induction into its Circle of Excellence as a distinguished teacher. Mrs. Martinez is now a valued staff member on the Broward campus.

Camper groupings vary by program. Day Camp programs will be grouped by age/grade/gender, Specialty Programs are grouped together by age, interest, and/ or skill level. Programs are not guaranteed and require a minimum enrollment. Campers are supervised at all times by our energetic and fully-trained staff. Our counselors are carefully selected based on experience, character, and leadership. Every staff member is background checked, as we continue to maintain the highest level of safety and security on campus. At American Heritage Day Camp we do our very best to make sure our staff is placed with the appropriate age group to ensure a successful and fun summer.
