Course Description+
Pre-Algebra Honors is an advanced course to develop the skills necessary to be successful in Algebra 1. Topics include, but are not limited to, operations with rational numbers, variables, ratio and proportion, percents, graphs, sets, number theory, properties of rational numbers, equations with inequalities, exponents, evaluation of formulas, coordinate systems, algebraic expressions, square roots, polynomials, and factoring. Students will be exposed to the fundamentals of Algebra 1 during this course.
Honors level classes can expect more rigorous requirements for assignments and assessments.
Prerequisite: 'A' in previous math course. This is a non-credit course. This course is a Prerequisite to Algebra 1.

Additional Course Information+
A class may be canceled if fewer than 6 students enroll, and a specific teacher is not guaranteed. It is the parents’ responsibility to check with their child's school when seeking credit for a course. For online courses, the students’ cameras MUST be turned on at all times, and attendance is mandatory. To protect the privacy rights of all, there is absolutely no videotaping or recording by students during the course. Students must be age appropriate for the course, and all students must adhere to proper online etiquette. For online courses, young children must be supervised by a parent at all times. Requirements for AHS Students; Students must currently be in 6th grade or higher and recommended for Pre-Algebra Honors and earned at least an A- for the 1st semester.
