Young authors will enjoy this enrichment course that gives the opportunity to write thought-provoking fiction, expressive nonfiction, and cross-genre writing under the direction of highly accomplished writers. Emphasis will be on reading analysis and the writing process with group discussions to help develop the student's ability to write clearly and compellingly.
Allison Sepielli is a University of Miami graduate completing her sixth year teaching English at American Heritage School. She is ESE certified and has experience teaching English for grades 7-11. She is also responsible for creating the Reading and Writing Enrichment Program for grades 1-5 for the Summer Institute and has been supervising the course for the last 5 summers.
A class may be canceled if fewer than 6 students enroll, and a specific teacher is not guaranteed. It is the parents’ responsibility to check with their child's school when seeking credit for a course. For online courses, the students’ cameras MUST be turned on at all times, and attendance is mandatory. To protect the privacy rights of all, there is absolutely no videotaping or recording by students during the course. Students must be age appropriate for the course, and all students must adhere to proper online etiquette. For online courses, young children must be supervised by a parent at all times.
