Course Description+
This program is carefully crafted to avoid summer learning loss and ensure our students remain prepared for the upcoming school year. This evidence-based and research-supported remediation program taught by certified specialists will provide intensive intervention through a multi-sensory approach. Students will reinforce skills and acquire new knowledge to become skilled readers and mathematicians. Students are taught content and complete activities that provide mastery-oriented practice of the critical skills needed to become overall proficient students. This is an in-person class only.

Meet Andrea Croke+
Andrea Croke has worked at American Heritage Schools for four years and is currently teaching 5th Grade Reading and Writing. She has an Elementary Education Certificate (K-6) and a Master's in Elementary Education. Mrs. Croke is trained in IMSE Intermediate Orton-Gillingham methodology, which is designed to reinforce and develop reading skills.
Meet Kristen Fonteciella+
Kristen Fonteciella is currently a permanent substitute at American Heritage Schools teaching grades Pre-K 3 to 6. Ms. Fonteciella has been with American Heritage for two years and has five years previous experience as a 2nd grade teacher. She also has been a tutor for students in grades 1-6. Ms. Fonteciella holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida and is professionally certified with the Florida Department of Education in grades K-6. She also holds Orton-Gillingham Instruction and TESOL certificates. She has a passion for helping students excel and ensures that the needs of every child are met.
Meet Itala Llompart+
Mrs. Llompart has been teaching for eight years and has a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She holds a teaching certification in grades K-6 and has endorsements in ESOL, Gifted, and Reading in addition to being certified in Clinical Education and trained in Orton Gillingham.
Additional Course Information+
A class may be canceled if fewer than 6 students enroll, and a specific teacher is not guaranteed. It is the parents’ responsibility to check with their child's school when seeking credit for a course. For online courses, the students’ cameras MUST be turned on at all times, and attendance is mandatory. To protect the privacy rights of all, there is absolutely no videotaping or recording by students during the course. Students must be age appropriate for the course, and all students must adhere to proper online etiquette. For online courses, young children must be supervised by a parent at all times.
